Minat is a cellist and teacher based in London. Former Co-Principal Cellist of the London Symphony Orchestra, Minat was a member of the LSO until 2021, having first joined the cello section in 2007 whilst still an undergraduate at the Royal College of Music.
Minat graduated from the RCM in 2009, having been awarded the Ivor James, Helen Just, Wills Gordan, Thelma Reiss, Stuart Knussen and Anna Shuttleworth prizes, and an Amaryllis Fleming scholarship. She won the 5th Antonio Janigro International Violoncello Competition, has been awarded scholarships by the Philharmonia Orchestra/Martin Musical Scholarship Fund, the English Speaking Union, and the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and was lent an Amati cello by the Balmain Charitable Trust.
Minat is a passionate chamber musician, and has also been a regular Guest Principal with ensembles including the Aurora Orchestra and European Camerata.
In addition to her performing career, Minat is a dedicated teacher. She offers private lessons in London and online, and has taught at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Aldeburgh Young Musicians, Britten Pears Arts, and the Royal Academy of Music.
